Fallout London VR Mod Brings the Dystopian World to Life

The Fallout London VR mod is here to bring the dystopian world of the game to life, and it’s done such an amazing job that players can’t stop glazing their experience.

Fallout is a beloved video game, comic, and, more recently, a TV series franchise due to its fun gameplay, brilliant story, and iconic characters present in its world. There’s truly nothing like it, and that’s why gamers and modders are always looking for ways to make the game more interesting beyond the vanilla version. That’s how Fallout London was born into this world, after all.

Now, let’s take a look at what the VR mod for Fallout London looks like. Is it really that good?

First, Let's Talk a Bit About What Fallout London Is

Fans can now see Fallout London in virtual reality (VR), which lets players explore the game outside of the typical American setting. Fallout London, a free secondary mod for Fallout 4‘s full revamp, lets users put on virtual reality goggles and traverse the broken world.

Without a doubt, Fallout London was a big undertaking that began in 2019 and was not scheduled to be released until 2024. Despite some technical challenges at launch, fans eagerly jumped onto what Fallout London was providing, with the mod offering players the identical post-apocalyptic world they were used to, but from an entirely novel viewpoint across the pond.

Welcome to the World of VR: Fallout London VR Mod Is Here!

Fans who wish to wander around post-apocalyptic London may now do so in unprecedented detail, thanks to a new update that renders it interoperable with VR headgear. The mod, which has no affiliation with the Fallout London FOLON team, is still in beta as we’re writing and posting this article. However, it has been made available for download from NexusMods by who we think is the mod creator(s) themselves.

Any serious bugs discovered with the mod are likely to be resolved in due course. Players will likely be capable of playing the game using contemporary VR headsets that link to a gaming PC, such as the Meta Quest 3 or Valve Index.

Gamers Can't Wait to Enjoy the Fallout London VR Experience

The VR version of Fallout 4 came out back in 2017, but users weren’t quite happy with it. The game has received mixed reviews on Steam, but Skyrim VR, which was released a year later, has received largely positive feedback.

Despite Skyrim being an older video game title compared to Fallout 4, Bethesda appears to have learned from the errors encountered with Fallout 4‘s VR adaptation. However, there is good news for lovers of Fallout 4: an assortment of mods have been created by enthusiasts that improve the VR experience and accessibility.

Though VR hasn’t yet become as popular as other gaming consoles, players love being able to roam about their favorite in-game worlds. It’s a completely thrilling thing to feel as if they were engaging with the world in real life instead of just looking at it via TV or computer screen.

VR has an opportunity to heighten tension and fear, particularly in horror titles such as Phasmophobia and Resident Evil 4. Honestly, it’s not that hard to imagine a world where people are wearing VR headsets whenever they play video games.

Even if you’ve seen every one of Fallout London’s monsters, adversaries, and decaying locations, returning to the game in VR might provide you a new and revitalizing experience.

Versions of the Fallout London VR Release

The recently released Fallout London VR mod, which is now available on Nexus Mods, is currently in beta. While the entire game is 100% playable in VR, only 10% of its material has been tested. Still, “all known game-breaking bugs have been fixed,” according to the mod description.

Players must first install the following essentials (prerequisites) before installing the newest project for them to run the VR modification of the fantastic Fallout 4 mod:

  • Fallout 4 + DLC (1.10.163 version or older)
  • Fallout 4 VR
  • Fallout: London
  • Mod Organiser 2 (MO2)
  • Fallout 4 Script Extender VR 0.6.21 (F4SEVR)

The VR port still has significant problems, much like the original Fallout London launch, mostly because of how demanding the fan mod is on the aging game engine. To fix this, users are urged to install the VR FPS stabilizer mod. For example, a crash occurs when you leave London Bridge Station whilst using the VR port to play the game.
