Unfortunately, we don’t really have more information about what this news could be as of this writing. Still, we’ll be sure to update y’all once we have them. But one thing is confirmed: Leon S. Kennedy will be a playable character, along with Grace Ashcroft, and we can only hope that playing as each character is going to be awesome.
What Is the Game's Story All About?
You know, it’d be boring if we were only given the same old character to play. So, Capcom decided to introduce a new character into the mix, but she’s familiar with zombies and the Umbrella Corporation’s evils because she’s a survivor of the Raccoon City disaster.
The story kicks things off with Grace Ashcroft, a technical analyst for the FBI being tasked to investigate multiple mysterious deaths in a place called “Wrenwood Hotel.” However, this mission is more than just a routine job because as it turns out, the hotel is tied to something tragic that happened to Grace’s mother, who happens to be Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.
Speaking of Raccoon City survivors, Leon S. Kennedy will also be a part of the game’s story. We still don’t know what his actual role will be in the game, but fans are excited to see how Resident Evil 9: Requiem will handle him as a character.
Gamers will be treated to a modern yet nostalgic experience, with the game’s setting happening in Raccoon City after it was bombed in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Just like everyone else, we can’t wait to explore new environments and nostalgic alleyways or buildings as we go back to the first city to experience a zombie outbreak.
Resident Evil 9 First-Person and Third-Person View Is a Part of the Game's Gameplay Innovations
Today’s gaming landscape is very different from what it was 10 or 20 years ago. You won’t be finding modern Resident Evil titles sticking to the same fixed-camera angles and tank controls anymore, although the older titles are old games worth playing.
No, what you’ll find now are enhanced graphics, smoother gameplay, and a better overall experience for gamers. Here are a few of the new gameplay features they intend to include in Resident Evil 9: Requiem:
- Dual Perspective:Players can alternate between first-person and third-person perspectives using this feature, which improves immersion and adds variation to gameplay.
- Environment Interaction:Playing as Grace means handling an unarmed and vulnerable character, so individuals will have to keep their eyes peeled for environmental clues and pick up limited resources.
- Combat Mechanics:Since Leon is in the game, players can potentially expect some form of combat mechanics added into the game, probably something similar to the recent Resident Evil 4Remake, but that’s still speculation because we’re still unsure what Leon’s role in the game is.
- Exploration:Rumors are swirling around in Reddit that Resident Evil Requiemcould have open-world elements, which would increase the game’s level of exploration compared to the other titles, but do keep in mind that this is all still conjecture at this point.

But alas, we’ll have to be patient and wait for next year before. Just try not to turn into a zombie, okay?
