What’s the Deal with Palworld PS5 and the Lawsuit?
What Is PlayStation State of Play?
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) hosts a series of livestream events called State of Play to highlight new titles for the PlayStation VR2 platforms, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation 4. Within the PlayStation ecosystem, Sony uses State of Play broadcasts to inform customers directly about updates and new hardware and software.
Comparable to how Nintendo has done it in the past with their Nintendo Direct format, Sony launched State of Play in March 2019. It was introduced as a new method of interacting within the PlayStation community by sending broadcasts directly to consumers.
The program marks a change in Sony’s approach to promoting its next games and updates. Truth be told, you may discover news like Pathologic 3 having a surprise trailer release after 5 years. It’s Sony’s initiative to switch to a more regulated, digital presentation model in place of major industry events like E3.
Is It a Big Deal for Palworld PS5 to Be In PlayStation State of Play?
Absolutely! Being in the State of Play means that developers can increase the exposure of their games. This will then help them market the games better, giving them the opportunity to reach a wider audience.
Not only that, the State of Play has this exclusive feel to it. Being one of the games featured in it gives any developer’s game a special treatment that not every game can get.
If a game developer wants their game to be recognized, then being in the State of Play is a definite win. However, knowing Nintendo and their infamy for suing everybody, the lawsuit will most likely push through. It looks like we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out for Pocket Pair and Palworld.
