2024 is a good year for gaming, and with its end nearing, I’d like to share with everyone some of the best Nintendo Switch games 2024 (for me personally) has to offer.
With the handheld console being out for over 7 years now, many folks have enjoyed the different Nintendo Switch games that flowed out of many retailers’ gaming shelves. Some of their games are still being sold to this day, even though they came out at the same time the console did. This shows that, similar to the best Android horror games, gamers do not discriminate whether a game is old or not, so long as it’s fun.
Today, I’m inviting everyone to join me, and together, we’ll check out these awesome Nintendo Switch games worth having!
Hollow Knight—One of the Must-Play Games on Switch
Let me start this list off with my favorite platformer game on Nintendo Switch, Hollow Knight. Now, to be clear, I’m not really that good with platformers. I did play a lot of them back when I was a kid, but that was mainly due to availability. Back then, platformers and side-scrollers dominated the gaming space with games like Super Mario, Contra, Castlevania, Metroid, and more.
When my family acquired our first PC, I began to lose interest in platformer and side-scroller games. Diablo, Lords, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, and Virtua Cop soon became my go-to games. I think the only platformer we had on the PC back then was Hunter Hunted.
Hollow Knight was the first platformer that really got me into the genre again. The exploration in this game is tremendous. You have many secret levels to discover, hidden items, and there’s so much lore, too.
I’m trying not to spoil the game for any of you who’d like to play it, so let me just say this: go and play it! Oh, and its DLC is also included in the Nintendo Switch. It’s a substantial amount of content that greatly enhances the game and is complemented by its stunning graphic design.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons—Remains as One of the Top-Rated Games on Switch for 2024
One of the best-liked and cozy games on the Nintendo Switch is still Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Animal Crossing: New Horizons brought players to a peaceful island for a leisurely loop of activities such as bug-catching, fishing, and improving the design of their virtual houses just as lockdowns started to occur all over the world.
I think the pandemic really did play a huge role in Animal Crossing’s success. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful game and deserves to be one of the best Nintendo Switch games 2024 even without the pandemic happening. But the brutal lockdowns really pushed everyone to find solace in isolation, and I think Animal Crossing gave people what they were looking for.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a must-have game in your Nintendo Switch games collection.

Bayonetta 3—Deserves to be Among the Best Action Games for Switch 2024
Few games get action like Bayonetta 3, a showstopper of self-assured fighting and devilish dancing skills. This game is an arrogant burst of pleasure that brings the Bayonetta trilogy to a satisfying conclusion.
The introduction of a new character in Bayonetta 3 stands in stark contrast to the title witch’s refined chaos. What this demonstrates is the game’s willingness to experiment with its concept.
With a complex plot, extensive kaiju fights, and even a chase scene worthy of Hollywood, Bayonetta 3 never forgets why fans initially fell in love with the franchise. It might not be on the list for some PlayStation horror games for 2024, but you can play it and have fun whatever the season may be.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—The Pinnacle of the Best RPGs for Switch 2024
When I was writing this article, I was arguing whether to put The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild here. I mean, it was a smash hit from all around the world, after all. But after some thought, I decided to put the sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, for a couple of reasons.
Tears of the Kingdom builds on the foundation of its predecessor. Compared to the first game, it’s larger, more daring, and much more ambitious. But at the same time, it goes a long way in resolving some of the more persistent problems from Breath of the Wild.
You can say that Tears of the Kingdom borrows the best features from older Zelda games and provides a fulfilling and enthralling experience. The outcome is an enjoyable game and a masterwork of clever engineering. It becomes a unique kind of gameplay that sets the bar for standards higher than any Zelda game before.
