World of Warcraft is on a streak with its collaborations this year, with the Overwatch 2 x World of Warcraft collab just happening about a month ago. Mountain Dew, arguably the biggest company providing sodas to gamers like they were healing and mana potions, has revealed this awesome collaboration with two new flavors.
Now, I haven’t tasted these flavors myself, but you bet I’ll be scouring the stores for them later. Let’s examine what these flavors are and learn more about this collaboration together!
The WoW Mountain Dew Promotion We Didn't Expect
Two World of Warcraft-inspired Game Fuel flavors were recently unveiled by Mountain Dew. With two drinks—the traditional Citrus Cherry and the brand-new Citrus Blackberry—the long-rumored partnership between World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew is now here.
Online speculations about a new partnership between Mountain Dew and World of Warcraft have been going around for a few months. After multiple images of the new Mountain Dew Game Fuel with a World of Warcraft motif surfaced online, these claims gathered a lot of attention.
These rumors have now been formally verified as true. A brief statement that Mountain Dew Game Fuel is returning with two flavors inspired by World of Warcraft was recently posted on Twitter by Mountain Dew Gaming. This tweet exploded and has become quite viral, especially with the gaming community.
But the real question here is, do we have more information about these flavors?
Introducing the Two New World of Warcraft Mountain Dew Flavors
One of the first World of Warcraft flavors from their initial partnership years ago, Citrus Cherry, is back. The bottle sports the image of The Lich King and Thrall, the franchise’s iconic Warchief of the Horde.
Citrus Blackberry, a dark, rich purple beverage, joins the World of Warcraft Mountain Dew collab roster. This drink features Alleria Windrunners and her arch-nemesis, Xal’atath. For those who don’t know, Xal’atath is a major antagonist in the game World of Warcraft: The War Within. She’s got a pretty cool monicker, too, with many calling her the Harbinger of the Void.
Like with any other collaboration, the World of Warcraft Mountain Dew collab is available for a limited time only. This means I need to get to the stores early if I want to taste these new flavors!
Wow X Mountain Dew Has Been in the Works for Years Only a Few Might Remember
Those who have played World of Warcraft for a long time may recall the initial Mountain Dew campaign in 2009. Containing flavors with Horde and Alliance themes, a CGI commercial that shows an Orc and Night Elf fighting in a shop, and sweepstakes.
Here’s a video the World of Warcraft Mountain Dew Game Fuel Commercial 15 years ago:
Individuals who are fortunate enough to still possess vintage Mountain Dew bottles from this partnership cherish them to this day. Other games that have partnered with Mountain Dew have provided real-world loot and in-game prizes. This is in exchange for codes on Game Fuel merchandise, such as the Mountain Zu mount in Final Fantasy 14.
You can say that it’s somewhat similar to the Xbox Gamescom 2024 that featured Word of Warcraft: The War Within. As of right now, it doesn’t seem like there are any Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards connected to World of Warcraft, but that might change in the future.
But that’s not all because there are currently other partnerships with World of Warcraft. Trolli is now offering World of Warcraft-themed items that may be redeemed for a Gummi Worm pet in-game. As an alternative, one of three colors of Classic Tabard Transmogs can be acquired if qualified Trolli goods are bought from Circle K, Dollar General, or Walgreens.
This Year's World of Warcraft Mountain Dew Collab Is Set to Be a Fantastic One
For the 30th anniversary of Warcraft on November 15 and the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft on November 23, Blizzard is going all out. Therefore, before the festivities are done, viewers could witness even more franchise partnerships.
Leave us a comment about which flavor you’re excited about. Do you think you’re more of a Citrus Cherry type of fellow or do you prerfer the Citrus Blackberry? Also, don’t forget to check out our other posts while you’re here. Stay tuned for more news on games and the gaming industry with GameEels!
