What Are a Couple of Things We Know About Ghost of Tsushima 2: Ghost of Yotei?
Given the success of the 2020 release of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Studios decided to produce a follow-up. A Ghost of Tsushima follow-up has been a frequent subject of conjecture anytime new game reveals were anticipated during the past few years. The new game was undoubtedly not what fans had anticipated when it was finally shown at the PlayStation State of Play 2024 in September.
When all of this material is put together, certain intriguing details regarding Ghost of Yotei‘s appearance become apparent. Details that we haven’t mentioned here before include:
• Players Might Get a Wolf as a Companion
Sucker Punch seems to be trying out a brand new ally alongside the heroine. Although the majority of Jin’s allies in Ghost of Tsushima were human beings, there was a motif that the main protagonist had animal connections.
The trailer for Ghost of Yotei may be extending that notion. An up-close view of a wolf with blood-stained jaws is shown during the introductory monologue.
Since it reappears near the conclusion of the trailer, it would seem reasonable to presume that this character is an opponent. However, it instantly calms down rather than assaulting Atsu.
The wolf suddenly seems to shift its focus, aiming at whatever Atsu also noticed, before lunging ahead. It appears to be implied that they are cooperating.
• Who Are the New Antagonists?
The year is 1603 CE according to Ghost of Yotei. It’s going to be impossible for The Mongol Empire to make a comeback in this game. Unless Sucker Punch wants to take some major artistic license with the history.
The notion of a vigilante or revenge quest is also supported by many in the public. However unverified, the theory that the scroll is a hit list and that Atsu will spend the game chasing these people like an assassin game is getting a lot of traction.
• Ghost of Yotei Is Not a Direct Sequel
The fact that Ghost of Yotei is not a straight sequel is one unexpected aspect of the film. While Ghost of Yotei is set in 1603, Ghost of Tsushima occurred in 1274. 329 years have passed between games.
We may use British monarchs to compare the dates to establish this in context. Shortly after Henry III’s death, Ghost of Tsushima would take place, with Edward I (who would later battle William Wallace) taking his place.
The events of Ghost of Yotei take place in the year when Queen Elizabeth I passed away. Britain would have had enough time between games to witness the Hundred Years War and the Wars of the Roses. This also includes the coronation of two queens and twelve kings.
Fans Are Eagerly Awaiting the Day When Ghost of Yotei Comes True
Although we don’t have an exact date yet, Ghost of Yotei is set to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5. With the better hardware of the console, gamers can expect a fun experience. An experience that is unique to the Ghost of Tsushima franchise.
