In the near future, Epic Games will significantly change how Fortnite’s several ways of progression operate. Unlike their Fortnite Halloween 2024 update, this change to the XP is substantially going to affect the game. How will this alteration affect the player base that Fortnite has? And is the change really for the good?

Join me, and together we’ll examine this news and update that is absolutely going to affect every Fortnite player in the world!

What Changes Are Going to Take Place in the Fortnite XP Changes?

You will use XP to advance through every pass you currently have, beginning with any fresh passes added once the current season concludes. By gaining experience points in any mode, you will be able to advance all of your current passes at once. Lego studs and Festival points are going to be retired as well.

The new Festival pass—which will now be called the “Music Pass“—will be the first to undergo this alteration. When Fortnite Chapter 6 starts on December 1, the Lego Pass will be upgraded with this modification. The “Music Pass” festival will commence on November 2.

What Else Must Players Be Aware of Regarding This Change in the Fortnite XP System?

In addition to the modifications to progression, the passes themselves will also undergo alterations. The same 11-tier framework, which is divided into free and paid tracks, has been used by the present Festival and Lego passes in addition to mini-pass events such as the Pirates of the Caribbean one taking place this summer.

After Chapter 6 starts in December, new passes will eventually stop using that template. Instead, they will now be changing to a fresh single track with both free and paid content. Fortnite’s upcoming XP changes have really caused a major overhaul to the game’s Battle Pass mechanics.

Similarly, the combat pass is being streamlined by replacing the Battle Star currency with a simpler advancement mechanism.

Are Quality of Life Changes or Nerfs Waiting Players Once Fortnite's Upcoming XP Changes Take Place?

The changes can be regarded as an improvement in quality of life. It will indicate that you can finish the pass for that mode without ever playing Festival, after all.

However, passive XP will probably be eliminated or severely nerfed from Lego and Festival Fortnite in conjunction with these adjustments. Why? The passive XP is no longer required since the quests associated with those modes will now grant XP rather than a mode-specific currency.

It’s probable that the modification is being made, perhaps in part, to stop people from using these methods for leveling up while AFK.
