Making a list of the best games of 2024 isn't easy, but with so many good releases this year, we simply couldn't resist and picked the ones that we think stand out above the rest.
Choosing some of the best games for this year was no simple task. Everyone here at GameEels had a serious and objective discussion about this list, and this is the best one we’ve come up with. Similar to what we did with our Best Android Horror Games list, we painstakingly took into account what made these games so successful.
And after hours of deliberation, we’re now ready to present to everyone this list that was born from blood, sweat, and heated debates. Enjoy!

Dragon's Dogma II—Enjoy One of the Best RPGs of 2024
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a magical open-world role-playing game that builds on the best elements of the first game, which was released 12 years ago.
Although it may not be the most inventive follow-up, emergent moments, technological advancements, and a variety of gameplay elements all contribute to the exciting sense of adventure created by these basic characteristics. It’s easily one of the best games of 2024.
Silent Hill 2 Remake—One of the Must-Play Games That Just Released
When the Bloober Team was assigned to recreate one of the greatest horror games ever made (and one of the best games in the horror genre in general), they had a difficult challenge ahead of them. But with the Silent Hill 2 remake, the developers proved that they can deliver.
With amazing sound design, fierce action, and meticulous attention to detail, Bloober Team enhances the PS2 classic while preserving its original thrills and chills.
Black Myth: Wukong—A Fantastic Game You Shouldn't Miss Out On
Black Myth: Wukong is not as soulslike as you might think. You must employ each strategy in the book to make it through the gauntlet of breathtaking boss battles in this rendition of Journey to the West.
The game is still a sophisticated and thrilling action-RPG that is enjoyable to play, even though there are occasional dull parts interspersed with heart-pounding fights of sheer spectacle.
If this game ever got ported to the Nintendo Switch, it’s absolutely going to be one of the best Nintendo Switch games in 2024.
