Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone recently dropped an exciting surprise for fans of Stardew Valley—a secret mobile multiplayer feature!

This addition allows players to team up and tackle the farming life together, but there’s a twist. Barone warns that this feature is still experimental and might come with a few bugs. So, if you’re eager to try out the new Stardew Valley Mobile multiplayer, let’s break down how to access it and what to expect!

Getting into the Stardew Valley Mobile multiplayer is a bit of a hidden treasure. Players must perform a specific sequence of taps on the game’s title screen to unlock the co-op option. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Start up Stardew Valley on your mobile device and head to the title screen.
  2. You’ll notice the “Stardew Valley” logo features four groups of leaves. Tap the leaves in this order: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right.
  3. After that, press the “?” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  4. Exit the “?” menu, et voilà! You should now see a co-op button on the title screen.

This secret access adds a whole new level of fun to the game. You can host or join games with friends and share the joy of farming, mining, and tackling quests together.

How to Connect with Friends

While the Stardew Valley mobile multiplayer feature is fun, it does have some limitations. You can’t discover other players’ farms randomly; instead, you need to connect via IP addresses. This means both players must be on the same local network or create a hotspot to link up.  To find your IP address for hosting, do the following:

For iOS:  Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Click the (i) next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP Address”
For Android: Settings -> Network & internet -> Internet -> Click the gear next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP address”

The best way to enjoy this feature is by hosting a farm on a Windows PC and then accessing it through mobile. If you’re connecting via a mobile hotspot, be prepared for potential hiccups. Barone noted that interruptions could occur due to lost service spots or incoming calls. So, it’s essential to have a reliable connection for a smoother gaming experience.
