The new Genshin Impact Version 5.2 has a lot of good things waiting for players because the developers have added some quality-of-life changes everyone is going to appreciate.

Genshin Impact developers have just released a blog post. A blog post that details the things in store for their valued players. Unlike the last Genshin Impact 5.1 update that lacked English voices possibly due to strike, this update is very promising. If you’re a Genshin player, you’ve got a lot to be excited about.

Let’s go ahead and take a look at what these updates are and how they’ll benefit from all the changes.

What Does the Developer Blog Post Say About the Updates?

In addition to announcing significant improvements to Elemental Reactions in Version 5.2, the most recent developer blog article for Genshin Impact emphasizes the new quality-of-life aspects of Artifacts.

Although Genshin Impact has always been open to providing more gameplay, HoYoverse didn’t change course and start regularly introducing significant quality-of-life additions until the Fontaine era. This pattern persisted in Natlan, where Genshin Impact’s Battle Pass and Gacha system underwent several modifications in Version 5.0.

Genshin Impact’s Imaginarium Theater and Spiral Abyss saw significant enhancements in version 5.1, which made both game modes considerably more fluid for players. Even though the developers gave the Artifact system a lot of thought, it’s still one of the most complicated aspects of Genshin Impact. Players still frequently have to balance hundreds of Artifacts while trying to develop the character of their choice.

Will the Developers Tackle the Issue of the Artifact System?

The Developers Discussion dated November 6, 2024, states that Version 5.2 would try to address the main issue that players have with Genshin Impact’s Artifact system. Most rolls are generally undesired, and not every 5-Star Artifact is created equal.

In order to prevent 5-Star Artifacts from getting destroyed whenever used as material, Genshin Impact Version 5.2 gives players the ability to lock them. Players are going to be able to flag Artifacts as favorites, which will place them at the very top of the inventory, in addition to this new functionality.

Genshin Impact’s Version 5.2’s Elemental Reactions are also getting a significant makeover, but one that is solely centered on statistics. These artifact changes in Genshin are quite the highlight players need.

Discussing the Changes in Elemental Reaction Damage Within Genshin Impact's Version 5.2 Update

The main elemental reaction damage changes that players need to know at a glance are:

  • Electro-Charged deals 66.7% increased damage.
  • Superconduct deals 200% increased damage.
  • Shatter deals 100% increased damage.
  • Overload deals 37.5% increased damage.

It’s no secret that the Anemo, Dendro, and Geo teams in Genshin Impact outperformed Cryo. The community feels that further significant adjustments are required for the Cryo aspect as a whole, even though Wriothesley bought the creators some time ago when he was making his debut back in Version 4.1.

Though it doesn’t give the answer directly, Version 5.2 sets the stage for future characters to push Cryo back into the mix. Developers plan to do this by significantly boosting Elemental Reactions like Superconduct and Shatter.

Exploration and Treasure Compass Will Also Get Upgrades

One of the biggest updates in the game is being done to the Treasure Compass. Many would even say that it’s as big as the Genshin Impact leak that reveals the Mare Jivari region for Natlan. It’ll be receiving two major upgrades that aim to simplify exploration. These upgrades are:

  • The introduction of an automatic region-specific compass, including a brand new Oculus Resonance Stone.
  • Locatable chests now have more variety.

Version 5.2 will give the Treasure Compass greater power to detect more chest locations. Players will now have an easier time discovering Seelies and Time-Trial Challenges they haven’t found out yet.

The game will soon have an added feature called the “Enable Quick Swap” option. This lets the Oculus Resonance Stone and Treasure Compass automatically switch to each of their respective region’s versions. Of course, it’s going to be based on the current region the player is residing in.
