The 24-hour Monster Hunter Wilds beta extension is a blessing for gamers, especially with the recent PlayStation Network Outage that bummed everyone out.

Now, 24 hours may not seem like enough, but that’s actually plenty of time for gamers to play the game and hunt more monsters. Of course, Monster Hunter Wilds is still at its beta stage, but many players are already hooked on it.

People are touting how good the game is, saying there is more variety of monsters, builds, and weapons. The beta has everyone excited for a full release for Monster Hunter Wilds, in the meantime, we’ll talk more about this awesome extension.

What Happened to the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta PS5 Outage?

On Friday, February 7, at approximately 3 p.m. PT, PSN went down and didn’t come back up for about 24 hours. The only explanation Sony has offered for the situation is that there was an “operational issue” with its network services. Sony responded by offering an extra five days of service to all PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Naturally, PlayStation users couldn’t play their favorite games online during the outage. Even single-player titles that needed a steady internet connection or server authentication encountered issues.

One of the impacted games was Monster Hunter Wilds. Due to the outage, the game’s second and wildly popular beta was shortened. It supposedly had a scheduled weekend run of Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9.

New Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Dates Thanks to the Extension

In order to verify a Monster Hunter Wilds beta extension for 24 hours, the following session has been provided by developer Capcom. This implies that instead of the originally scheduled Sunday, February 16, it will begin this Thursday, February 13, and conclude on Monday, February 17.

The following is the new period:

  • Feb. 13, 7pm PT / Feb. 14, 3am GMT – Feb. 17, 6:59 pm PT / Feb. 18, 2:59 am GMT

According to Capcom, gamers will still be able to take advantage of the participation bonuses. Ones that are offered in the full edition of the game over this new extended duration.

Beta participants managed to fight Monster Hunter Wilds‘ major obstacle, a formidable new adversary named Arkveld, despite last week’s outage.
